Somerset Nature Connections Project Officer
We are looking for an experienced candidate to fill our Somerset Nature Connection Project Officer role with a focus on the Quantock Hills and Blackdown Hills AONBs.
You will be experienced in working with diverse communities, including adults and young people who have experienced or are vulnerable to mental health concerns. Good knowledge of the benefits of the natural environment and understanding of the health care sector is necessary. Best working practice in health and safety is an important aspect of this role, including skill in producing robust risk assessments. Experience in safeguarding, protection issues and legislation are essential.
The successful candidate will be based in Taunton with a mix of home and office working. You will also need to travel to locations around the County due to the rural nature of Somerset, by using your own car.
Somerset Nature Connections is a partnership project with Somerset Wildlife Trust, Mendip Hills, Quantock Hills and Blackdown Hills AONBs (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Hosted by Somerset Wildlife Trust, you will be part of a dynamic engagement team and a well-respected conservation charity working to ensure Somerset remains one of the most wildlife-rich and habitat-diverse counties in Britain.
This is a 30 hour per week position, fixed-term contract ending in June 2023.
All applications must be received by 9.00 am on Monday 9th August 2021.
Interviews will take place on Friday 20th August at one of Somerset's AONBs. This will be an all-day event provisionally from 9.30 am - 4.30 pm, involving an interactive session and formal interview.
