Rocky Shore Ramble Helwell Bay - Watchet
Saturday 24 November 11:00 - 13:30
Our visit is timed to start at 11.00am so that we have time to walk over to Helwell along the cliff path and then down to toward the low tide line at 1.02pm. We will return by 1.30pm. Helwell Bay has a surprisingly diverse amount of rocky shore life to be discovered. We shall be led by marine biologist and rocky shore expert, Dr Mark Ward, the SWT Somerset’s Brilliant Coast Project manager. Wildlife Trust staff will give us a briefing on what to expect before we start.
Please bring warm and waterproof clothes. You will be clambering over slippery rocks so wear walking boots or even better wellingtons as we will be walk over wet mud and in and out of rock pools.
Where: We shall be meeting outside the Visitors Centre in the Harbour Road car park in Watchet (by the train station). The car park is pay and display (£1.50 for 2 hours and £2.50 for 4 hours). There are other car parks and street parking available in Watchet.
