Wilder Garden Champion

Wilder Garden Champion

Location: County-wide, Somerset
Gardens have enormous potential to be provide safe habitats and connected corridors for wildlife. Somerset Wildlife Trust have launched an ambitious and exciting new plan to reverse the decline of nature and create a Nature Recovery Network in Somerset and gardens are a vitally important part of this.

If you are passionate about creating a wilder Somerset and have a reasonable knowledge of the principles of gardening for wildlife, then we would love to hear from you.

You will be asked to use your knowledge and enthusiasm to inspire others. You will be invited to visit gardens to give advice and guidance on how to create and improve spaces for wildlife.

This is primarily an advisory role; you will not be asked to complete practical gardening tasks. You will be asked to travel within your chosen local area, so own transport is essential.

We will host free training courses for each of our champions, as well as regular catch ups and the opportunity to connect with other champions.

Every garden is a potential nature reserve, so this is an opportunity to have a real impact for wildlife across Somerset.
