Volunteer, meet staff and gain experience
There are several ways for those ages 12-24 years old to get involved in volunteering at Somerset Wildlife Trust, depending on your availability and interest.
Wilder Youth
We are currently welcoming new members!
Our Wilder Youth programme is for people ages 16 - 30 from all around Somerset who want to take action for nature.
We host meetups every other month where we share opportunities, organise upcoming campaigns and projects, and have a dedicated wildlife session to learn ecology and ID skills. Members can be supported with their own wildlife projects and ideas, or helped to find specific experiences they are seeking.
The location of meetups moves around Somerset, and locations are flexible depending on where members of the forum are based.
If you would like to find out more about our Wilder Youth Programme, please email our Wilder Youth Officer Siân on sian.bentley@somersetwildlife.org. For updates on our youth work follow our youth Instagram, @wilderyouthswt.
Pine Martens Bounce Back
Somerset Wildlife Trust is a partner to the Pine Martens Bounce Back project, led by Devon Wildlife Trust. There are a variety of opportunities available, including practical conservation, monitoring, community engagement and desk-based tasks. Opportunities will change as the project progresses so if you don’t see anything that appeals to you now, do keep checking back. For details on what is currently available and to sign-up, please visit https://twomoorspinemartens.org/volunteering-opportunities/
