Join Somerset Wildlife Trust in the Parrett Room of Langport Town Hall for a collaborative workshop on how to make a community climate adaptation plan.

Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Act to Adapt process is supporting communities across Somerset to adapt to climate change through a series of collaborative events. Taking the following steps, communities are creating and implementing climate adaptation plans, proactively responding to climate threats in their local area whilst simultaneously building community, supporting local wildlife, and increasing wellbeing.

Join us at Langport Town Hall for a collaborative workshop that will start the process of creating a community climate adaptation plan. The workshop will last for two hours and will involve working together in groups to discuss how Langport and Huish Episcopi are being impacted by climate change and what we can do about it.

Film: The People's Emergency Briefing 

On the 15th of October, Transition Langport are showing The People's Emergency Briefing, a compelling and thought-provoking film that brings together leading experts to explain the realities of the climate and nature crisis and what it means for our communities, health, food systems and future. Developed from evidence presented to over 1,200 UK decision-makers in Westminster, the film presents the latest science in an accessible and engaging way, while highlighting practical solutions and opportunities for positive action. Although the information is stark, the film is also funny and ends with hope and a call for positive action. 

We recommend watching The People's Emergency Briefing before attending this event, as it provides valuable background on the climate and nature crisis and will help inform and enrich the following discussions.
