About the event

This session will be led by Chris Cardno and Jon van Gowler from the British Dragonfly Society. There will be a short introduction at the Avalon Marshes Centre then a guided walk over to nearby Shapwick Heath to search for dragonflies and learn further how to study and ID them in the field.

The course is open to all, but is especially targeted to those involved in conserving their local community green spaces and looking to better survey and monitor these areas for key groups such as these.

People may even be inspired to find how they can get involved in existing survey work across the county.  A more detailed and longer course on identification and survey methodology is being planned for next Spring which this session will act as a great introduction to.
