The Big Somerset Synchronised Sea Mammal Survey (2): 12th September

Take part in this second of two exciting synchronised Sea Watch surveys for porpoises, dolphins and other marine megafauna at a Somerset coastal location near you. We aim to have people surveying at every significant headland from Porlock to Portishead!

About the event

Run in conjunction with Somerset Wildlife Trust's Somerset's Brilliant Coast Project and the Sea Watch Foundation, this synchronised survey will be carried out at multiple locations along the Somerset and North Somerset Coast between 10am and 12 noon on 12th September. No previous knowledge or training is required but we will provided people with information in advance. A YouTube Somerset SeaWatch Training Video is available.  The first survey will have taken place on the 31st July.

Know before you go

What to bring

Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Bring snacks and something to drink too. You will be staying in one spot for several hours. You may also wish to bring a ‘sit mat’.   A good pair of binoculars is highly recommended.
