About the event

One of a monthly series of two hour surveys for porpoises, dolphins and other marine life being carried out along the Somerset and North Somerset Coast throughout this year and next year. Run in conjunction with Somerset Wildlife Trust's Somerset's Brilliant Coast Project and the SeaWatch Foundation. No previous knowledge or training is required as experts and ID guides will be available. A YouTube Somerset SeaWatch Training Video is available. It is useful (but not essential) to view this prior to attending your first survey.

Be Creative: We will also encourage you to use the opportunity, whilst sitting in this beautiful spot, to do some poetry, creative writing or even some sketching (entirely optional!).

COVID Safety: The event has been adapted and fully risk assessed in the light of ongoing COVID safety guidance. Spaces are limited and booking is essential.

NOTE: This survey will follow on from Sea Watch Survey Training course which is being held in the morning at Kilve Court Residential Centre and can be booked separately. If you are already booked on this course you are automatically registered for this survey as well. You don't have to attend the training to take part in the survey.

Additional booking information

You will be sent full details of how to make the event safe and enjoyable once you register. If you are attending with a friend or family members, each member of your party must provide their name and contact details when booking (for ‘track and trace’ purposes). Spaces will be limited to ensure compliance with maximum group sizes for outdoor events and to allow social distancing to be applied during the survey. Only those named participants who have booked in advance will be allowed to take part. Do not attend the event if you feel unwell or if you have been in contact with people with COVID symptoms (see government advice).
