Surfers Against Sewage Big Spring Beach Clean
About the event
Surfers Against Sewage, Somerset Wildlife Trust and West Somerset Together are leading a coastal litter pick at Minehead as part of the SAS National Spring Beach Clean week. The clean will start at 10.00am outside Channel Adventure. As well collecting rubbish from the beach we will also be looking for litter above the tideline in green spaces behind the sea front. After the clean we will gather to sort the litter that has been collected. The event will end around 12noon. This event is part the campaign to get Minehead recognised as an SAS Plastic Free Community. This campaign is supported by local businesses and other partners. Visit the campaign’s Facebook page at:

Know before you go
There will be opportunities for people of all levels of mobility to participate. There are slopes down onto the beach which is sandy.

What to bring
The weather could still be inclement so bring warm and waterproof clothes and sensible outdoors shoes for walking on the beach. Gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you have them.
