About the event

Join us for a special Wilder Matters event with guest speaker Professor Sir Dieter Helm CBE, author of Legacy: How to Build the Sustainable Economy, will challenge conventional models of economic growth by placing nature at the heart of prosperity.

Drawing on his Legacy framework, Helm argues for a radical shift: from exploiting natural capital to maintaining and investing in it. He will critique current legislative and policy approaches, exposing how they fall short of safeguarding future generations. Expect a compelling case for a sustainable economy built on environmental limits—not despite them.

This event is part of our Wilder Matters series, live online events from Somerset Wildlife Trust which help you get to heart of the biggest environmental topics of the day and their relevance to Somerset. We recommend you join us on the night for the full experience, as we cannot guarantee recordings will be made available promptly after the event.
