Supporting action for a Wilder Mendip

Working together for a Wilder Mendip

We provide training, advice and support to enable individuals, communities and land managers in Mendip to take action for nature. Key to this is enabling people to share skills and work together to conserve, connect, restore and create wildlife habitats.  We provide opportunities for people to experience, value and increase their understanding of the area's valuable habitats and species, as well the the role they can each play in nature's recovery in Mendip.

Manage land to increase value for nature

We can provide advice on managing land with nature in mind within Mendip, including undertaking site surveys and helping land managers to apply to agri-environment schemes.

Land managers can get in touch via our webform

We also run workshops covering different sustainable land management approaches and ways to manage, restore and create wildlife habitats.

How we fund our work in Mendip

We fund our work in Mendip from a variety of sources, including through membership support, grants, donations, partner contributions, charging for services and government/local authority funding. For work in East and Mid Mendip, a proportion of funding comes via a Section 106 agreement (a planning obligation to mitigate environmental impact) between Somerset Council and Aggregate Industries.
