| What We Do | | Learn and Discover |

At Somerset Wildlife Trust we believe that children and young people only truly understand and appreciate the natural world when they have experienced it first hand. Memories of minibeast hunts, mammal trapping or days just spent tramping through the woods can last far longer than those of indoor learning.
By learning about the natural world from the edge of a pond or by gazing up through the canopy of a woodland, children can really appreciate and understand the importance of the environment. We put a strong emphasis on hands on learning and through our education work we aim to ensure everyone comes away having experienced the natural world in an inspiring way.
Our education activities provide opportunities for young people and their families to learn, discover and explore a range of Living Landscapes in a variety of ways including art, storytelling, woodland crafts and guided walks. We run a number of educational projects, a schools programme and provide opportunities for families to join in.
