About the event

This is a partnership event between “Happy_Smallholding” and Somerset Wildlife Trust. Jess Gough @happy_smallholding is a Somerset based smallholder who grows in harmony with nature.

The course will be an introduction to growing food, from setting up your space to sowing seeds & looking after your plants right through to harvest. You will learn how to garden organically by working in harmony with nature, and you'll learn practical skills such as making compost & making a new vegetable bed.

Somerset Wildlife Trust will give you ideas for incorporating features to nurture nature in your space, and all participants will receive a wildlife gardening pack. There will be plenty of time to ask lots of questions and some light refreshments.

  • Planting out
  • How to make compost
  • Companion planting
