New Practical Conservation Group: East Poldens Volunteer Group

 10th Jun 2011

Great Breach bonfireHelp is needed on the South Somerset Reserves with practical work on our Nature Reserves

We are seeking new volunteers to help with practical conservation work across the 12 South Somerset sites. It will be on the first Sunday and third Thursday every month, volunteers are welcome to commit one or two days a month.

You will meet like-minded people and learn new skills while working in the beautiful area of the East Poldens.

The first task will be on the 21st of July at White Field nr Butleigh Helping to cut and rake an area of reed fen.

No experience is needed to join just enthusiasm and the desire to help Somerset Wildlife Trust with the work on their nature reserves.

Each day will start with an introduction to the site and hopefully during the day we will catch a glimpse of the wildlife found on the site.

The summer programme is available here.

For more information about joining the group please contact South Somerset Reserves Officer Mark Green on 01823 652408 or
