Wild Futures Traineeship
A contract position, £9,000 Full Time Position, One Year
Somerset Wildlife Trust has 3 training placements available from 1st July 2016 for enthusiastic and highly motivated people interested in a career in wildlife conservation.
The 3 positions are:
- Practical conservation (x2)
- Volunteer and community engagement
The positions are aimed at people interested in pursuing a career in the conservation sector and who are looking to gain experience and skills in their chosen field. No formal educational qualifications or previous training is required but applicants will be expected to be enthusiastic for their chosen role, show a desire and dedication to learn new skills and gain experience and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
The posts will be based at a variety of Somerset Wildlife Trust offices and will involve time spent on nature reserves and natural sites across the county. Accommodation is not offered as part of any of the positions and trainees are responsible for arranging their own accommodation and transport to work bases.
A bursary of £750 a month will be paid to trainees with a further completion payment also payable. There is no salaried position offered on completion of the programme.
