Visitor Supporters on Reserves

We are looking for volunteers for a new initiative to be trialled on several of our key nature reserves; Westhay, Catcott and Black Rock, to spend time talking with new and regular visitors to the reserves, providing information about the site, including recent sightings. This role is ideally suited to someone who already knows and loves our nature reserves and enjoys communicating with members of the public.

For those who are physically fit and love the outdoors in any weather this role involves practical habitat & estate management tasks on one of our reserves, such as coppicing, scrub clearing, fencing, tree felling and planting, dry stone walling and general maintenance work; also the day to day maintenance of fences, machinery and tools.  Training would be given.  Working well with others, such as volunteers, is essential.  The role involves a commitment of 2 days per week for a minimum period and is a great way to learn practical conservation management skills and see the work of a reserve in action.
