The cream of Somerset’s business community came together on Friday, October 17, for the tenth annual Somerset Business Awards, where Somerset Wildlife Trust was among the three finalists nominated for Charity of the Year. While Reminiscence Learning was ultimately named winner in the category, representatives from the Trust enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating businesses in the county.
A celebration of success
Trust CEO Simon Nash said: “This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Somerset Wildlife Trust. There’s no doubt that many things have changed over that time but the core principles upon which the Trust was established have always remained the same; to be a voice for nature and to ensure that the landscape around us is protected for future generations. The nomination was a celebration of our successes and is a tribute to our incredible teams of staff and volunteers, whose tremendous passion and enthusiasm over the years have helped us achieve so much.”
Somerset Chamber of Commerce
The awards night was held at Yeovil’s Westland Conference and Leisure Centre, and was organised by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with their sponsors. The event aims to celebrate success and raise the profiles of businesses in the county, as well as encouraging growth in start-up businesses.
