Early Years & Primary

Somerset Wildlife Trust has to date provided inspiring learning experiences for an enormous number of Primary and Secondary schools across Somerset and delivered curriculum linked wildlife and outdoor sessions for key stages 1 to 4 at schools and on our stunning nature reserves across the county.

We are enormously proud of the value we have been able to deliver with this programme and the incredible amount of positive feedback we have received from schools, children, teachers, parents and other educational organisations about the events and visits we have carried out.   

During 2016 we are in the process of reviewing the way the Trust offers its Schools Visits Programme (where schools can book in a visit or plan an certain activity on our ‘menu’ to suit their needs).  This means that temporarily we will be unable to offer this programme to schools. We hope that this will change in the near future, so please keep checking back to this page.

As usual though we will continue to run a number of Key Stage linked educational activities and events as part of our ongoing project work and within our broader events programme which will involve work with a number of schools within the county.

We ARE however still able to provide schools and teachers with resources to continue to inspire their classes and children about wildlife and nature.  Please do click on the links to the left to access ideas for lesson plans and activities, but please be aware that any reference to booking activities and visits will be not be valid.


Secondary schools & Colleges

As with our Early Years and Primary work, we are unable to offer our usual structured programme of specific activities and visits for 2016 to any new Secondary schools or Colleges who make enquiries, however the links to the left may provide some support/useful information for course programmes.  We are happy to take more general enquiries about field studies or coursework so please do get in touch via the contact form regarding those.
