About a Wilder Somerset 2030

Somerset Wildlife Trust

Come with us on a journey

In 2019 we asked our members and supporters and all in Somerset to contribute to a plan.  A plan that would see us working together to bring back wildlife across the county and to protect Somerset's natural environment for generations to come. We are pleased to be able to share our 10-year plan, Wilder Somerset 2030 with you. You can read it by clicking the link below.

Catch up with the special launch event recording for Wilder Somerset 2030 below and learn how you can get involved.

Catch up with the Wilder Somerset 2030 launch event

This event was hosted by Somerset Wildlife Trust’s President, author, nature writer and TV producer, Stephen Moss who, following an overview of the strategy by Chief Executive Officer, Georgia Stokes, welcomed a number of special guests from across the sector who gave brief talks on a range of subjects that are related to the delivery of the 10-year strategy.

These included: Director of Rewilding Britain, Alastair Driver; former CEO of the British Trust of Ornithology and Natural England board member, Dr Andy Clements; Holly Purdy, an Exmoor farmer who is applying wildlife friendly, integrated practices on her farm; and longstanding champion of some of the Somerset Levels’ most significant nature reserves and now Head of Nature Recovery at Somerset Wildlife Trust, Simon Clarke.
