Watchet - Winter Beach Clean
About the event
A community beach clean to help collect litter that has accumulated on West Beach and Warren Bay over the festive period. We will sort the litter we collect and recycle it appropriately where possible. We will consider where marine litter comes from.
There will be volunteers on hand to organise the beach clean led by Mark Ward from the Somerset Wildlife Trust Somerset’s Brilliant Coast Project.
This event is part of the launch of a new Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Watchet Campaign and will include information on how to get involved in future events and initiatives to reduce single-use plastic use and other unnecessary packaging and over-consumption in the town.
Suggested donationDonations to toward Somerset Wildlife Trust's work on the coast are gratefully received

Know before you go
The seashore is rocky, muddy and slippery so is unsuitable for people with limited mobility.
What to bring
The weather could be inclement at this time of year so bring plenty of warm and waterproof clothes. We will have a supply of litter pickers, collection bags and gloves (for children and for adults), but if you have your own litter pickers or sturdy gardening gloves, or similar, it is suggested you bring them with you! Stout footwear or ideally Wellington Boots are recommended.
