We have loads of great wildlife events for adults, kids and families in Somerset. Hopefully the list below will give you lots of ideas for things to do, and give you more information about the interesting and fun activities you can take part in. Take a look at what's on below.

Because some of our events and things to do are held in the wilds of Somerset they include a grid reference as a meeting point - post codes are too imprecise. To see the location for the activity on a map go to Street Map and type in the grid reference (e.g. ST456437 no spaces.) If you zoom out you will first see the OS Explorer and Landranger maps which have more detail and then larger scale maps. Go to Street Map now.

Talk Wheelchair accessIcons - Events11

John Bebbington FRPS, who was Somerset county moth recorder until the end of 2018, will give a talk on Somerset Moths. He will cover both the common and rarer, lost and newly arrived species, threats to our declining moth populations and what we can do to encourage moths.

Saturday 27 April

Roger Dickey will lead a 3km walk from Langport, out along the old railway line and back along the bank of the River Parrett, looking and listening for early migrant birds. Binoculars will be useful.

Sunday 28 April

Somerset Wildlife Trust Somerset’s Brilliant Coast team would like to invite residents and friends of Otterhampton, Combwich, Stockland Bristol and Steart to an informal meeting to talk about the important coastal habitats and natural history in and around the Parishes.

 Somerset Wildlife Trust has funding to support exciting new community projects which enable local people connect to their coastline, to encourage health and well-being and to help protect nature for future generations. We need your ideas and enthusiasm! Come along to find out more about how to get involved and to help design the project. FREE TEA & CAKE PROVIDED.

Join Chris Holland from WholeLand as he takes us on a fascinating and tasty coastal foraging adventure on Brean Down and the beach.

Walk

Plastic Free Minehead and West Somerset Together are organising a Beach Clean at Blue Anchor. The clean will start at 11am and end about 1pm. After the clean we will gather to sort the litter that has been collected. This event is part the campaign to get Minehead and West Somerset  recognised as a Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Community.
