Marine Conservation Society Beach Clean

Somerset Wildlife Trust and Plastic Free Minehead & West Somerset are leading a Beach Clean at Minehead as part of the Marine Conservation Society National Beach Clean weekend. There will be survey a defined stretch of beach, counting different types of litter to compare with results from previous years, as well as doing a general beach clean. Has the amount and types of litter changed? We will start at 2pm outside Channel Adventure on Minehead Promenade. The event will end around 4pm.

Meeting point and parking: Meet at 2pm outside Channel Adventure (Warren Rd, TA24 5BG). There is pay and display parking nearby.

Dress and kit: Bring appropriate outdoor clothes for the weather and sensible outdoors shoes for walking on the beach. Gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you have them.

Briefing: Somerset Wildlife Trust staff will give us a briefing on what to expect before we start

Suitable for all ages. Children under 16 must be supervised. No dogs allowed. For those with mobility issues who can't access the sandy beach - litter can be collected from the Promenade.
