It’s full steam ahead on West Somerset Railway to raise funds for Somerset's wildlife

Steam-Tea---E-News (2)

As a special fundraiser and to celebrate the launch of its new Knit For Nature™ knitting pattern, Boris The Barn Owl, Somerset Wildlife Trust have teamed up with Miles Tea and Coffee and West Somerset Railway and is proud to present a ‘Steam Tea Wildlife Special’ train ride on Thursday 27th October.

This vintage afternoon tea-time adventure leaves Bishops Lydeard at 2.45pm, travels through the Quantock Hills and along the Somerset coastline to Minehead and then returns by 5.45pm. Ticket holders will be travelling in style in VIP carriages on one of WSR’s iconic steam trains, during which they will enjoy a tasty cream tea.  The trip can be enjoyed by all, but if you’re also a knitter, then the added bonus is you will have the chance to be the very first in Somerset to get your knitting needles around the new knitting pattern which will be available on the day – enjoyable for knitting novices or experts alike.  Boris The Barn Owl is the long-awaited follow up to the enormously successful ‘Rustle’ the hedgehog and baby ‘Bluebell.’

The limited number of  tickets, which are priced at £19.50 (includes a cream tea) will sell fast, so to find out more and to book your tickets to support this wonderful Somerset Wildlife Trust Fundraiser,  please contact the West Somerset Railway on 01643 704996. Monies raised from the event will go directly to Somerset Wildlife Trust, so please come along and fill up the carriages.
