We have loads of great wildlife events for adults, kids and families in Somerset. Hopefully the list below will give you lots of ideas for things to do, and give you more information about the interesting and fun activities you can take part in. Take a look at what's on below.

Because some of our events and things to do are held in the wilds of Somerset they include a grid reference as a meeting point - post codes are too imprecise. To see the location for the activity on a map go to Street Map and type in the grid reference (e.g. ST456437 no spaces.) Donna Lawley Hopton, winner of the British Wildlife Open 2018, explores diminishing biodiversity and contemporary environmental issues in paintings that focus on exquisite detail of an animal in its habitat. This exhibition is presented in association with ACEarts.

Together with Arts Taunton and Go Create Taunton, we've been bringing the beauty of Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris's book 'The Lost Words' to children in Taunton, to inspire them to write and make art about our natural world. The creative writing and artwork produced will be showcased at this celebration event hosted by our President Stephen Moss.

Training in how to carry out The Wildlife Trust’s ShoreSearch citizen science project. It will enable you to assist with ecological surveys of Somerset shores with the aid of Somerset Wildlife Trust staff and other local experts. 


Tuesday 29 October

Tom Ronan will be talking about the organisation 'Plastic Free Wells' and what steps we can take to reduce our use of plastic.
