Wildlife photo competition 2011

 20th Sep 2011

Cardinal BeetleSomerset Wildlife Trust is launching its 2011 photo competition to showcase the diversity of wildlife and wild places in the county.

Photographers across the county are invited to submit their digital images of Somerset wildlife and landscapes.

The winning entries will be published in Somerset Wildlife Trust’s membership magazine, with other entries shown on the website. In addition to the judges award, the top ten entries will be open to the ‘People’s Choice’ award with voting taking place online.

Somerset Wildlife Trust’s PR and Communications Manager Beth Jerrett said: ”Our photo competition is a celebration of the wildlife and landscapes that Somerset Wildlife Trust is working hard to protect, supported by our local members.

“As Somerset’s leading conservation charity we want to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy and experience local wildlife and the photo competition is a great way to get involved.”

Always remember when taking photographs of wildlife that the welfare of the subject is more important than the image.
