Somerset Big Beachwatch Help protect marine wildlife and local beaches by taking part in the Beachwatch Big Weekend, which takes place September 17 & 18.
Beachwatch is part of a national beach clean and survey of waste organised by the Marine Conservation Society. As well as cleaning up local beauty spots, the data that participants collect will help the MCS tackle the problem of litter in the sea and on beaches.
The events will also uncover the unique wildlife which thrives on Somerset’s coast and explain how geological features add to diversity. Join Trustee Mark Ward for a rock pool, fossil and geology ramble at Kilve, or Trustee Bob Corns who will reveal how sand dunes are created at Berrow Dunes Local Nature Reserve (LNR.)
