Wildlife Watch groups in Somerset

We have a network of six Watch groups for children aged between eight and twelve years old and their families. They meet regularly and although each group has its own identity they all work to a common framework of child welfare and safety. The groups are run by trained leaders and as part of our commitment to volunteers we provide appropriate training on child welfare and safety issues.

In the interests of the children, potential leaders are vetted in accordance with government guidelines and the Trust’s child welfare and safety policy.

There are recommended protocols for Watch leader recruitment designed to keep both children and leaders safe. If you are interested in becoming a Watch leader at your local group, the first step will be a meeting with Jessy Harris, Go Wild education officer.

If you would like more information on becoming a Watch leader please contact Jessy Harris on 01823 652415.
