Community Engagement Officer (Save our Magnificent Meadows Project) 

£24,694 per annum, pro rata

Part time role on fixed term contract until 2 June 2017, with possible extension until  31 July 2017, 3 days per week

Based at Cheddar, Somerset

Somerset Wildlife Trust is seeking to employ a part-time Community Engagement Officer to join the team delivering the Somerset element of the Save Our Magnificent Meadows project.

Save Our Magnificent Meadows is the UK’s largest partnership project transforming the fortunes of our vanishing wildflower meadows, grasslands and wildlife. Led by Plantlife, the partnership is made up of 11 organisations including Somerset Wildlife Trust and is primarily funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. 

The post will work alongside the other members of the Save Our Magnificent Meadows team to deliver activities throughout the Mendip Hills, including production of resources, organising and running events, supporting volunteers and working with local communities on Parish Meadows projects.

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of working to engage people within the nature conservation sector, with an understanding of grassland habitats including the management they require and species they support. You will need to be an enthusiastic and skilled individual, who will be a passionate and effective champion for wildflower grasslands.
