Report Your Wildlife Sightings

Whether you spot a bat in your garden, walk past an interesting plant or see a bird in your local park the Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC) would like to know! For over 20 years SERC has been the main centre holding data on wildlife sightings, types of environments and geological information for Somerset. Set up in 1986 as a joint venture between Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT) and Somerset County Council, the Record Centre is a partnership organisation based within the trust.

Registering a sighting is really easy and you don’t have to be an expert. Their new website allows people to enter in their own sightings by providing a small amount of information on what you have seen, where and when, and even if you aren’t 100% sure it’s still valuable information. Information that SERC needs to monitor the health and numbers of Somerset's wildlife and also provides information to help our, and other organisations' conservation work.
