Role

  1. Meeting administrative assistance including venue booking, organisation of catering for meetings and the write up of meeting notes for circulation by the Secretary.
  2. Social media updates including maintenance of the WTC website and management of WTC facebook and twitter accounts.
  3. Collating, analysing and reporting WTC data for internal and external promotional purposes and bid work.
  4. Organisation and coordination of training courses and continued professional development opportunities as required.
  5. Negotiation of reduced collective rates for services (e.g. eDNA testing, ISO Standards).
  6. Completion of other actions arising from meetings.

 

Overview
 

Job title : Business co-ordinator

Reports to: WTC Chair and Executive Committee

Responsible for: Assisting and supporting WTC operations.

Team: WTC.

Job purpose: To support the operation of the WTC.

Position: Part-time 15hrs per month, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with ½ hour lunch break, equating to 202.5 hours pro rata plus any additional hours as required by the role.

Contract term: 12 months with possible extension

Working Relationships: WTC members.

Place of work: Callow Rock Office, Shipham Road, Cheddar, Somerset BS273DQ.

The Wildlife Trust Consultancies are a trusted network of local experts in ecology, land management and landscape design. We provide advice and support, specialising in pragmatic and responsive solutions to risk management and planning obligations tailored to local conditions.

 

The role

The role involves providing support to the WTC committee and general members to allow the group to maximise collaboration opportunities and operate as efficiently and pro-actively as possible with a view to developing both the capacity and capability of the network.

You will be working closely with the Chair to arrange networking and training events, ensuring that meetings are horizon focused and deliver immediate and long-term value for members. You will also work directly with consultancy managers across the network to raise awareness of opportunities arising and assist in establishing and supporting task specific sub-groups and ventures.

You will also play a key role in maintaining a live database of in-house expertise and documentation which is accessible to members and selectively reported to non-members via a range of social media channels.
 

Specific responsibilities

Ecological consultancy industry

Marketing methods and techniques

Interest in environmental issues

 

Skills

Communication and inter-personal skills (both written and spoken)

Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint

Drive (valid UK driving licence essential)

Experience

Work experience: at least two years working as a network co-ordinator or similar.

 

Educational achievements

Minimum of 3 A Levels
