Calling the residents of Taunton!
Why we need you
By understanding and collecting evidence of which parts of the waterways and open spaces bats and water voles are using we can work with our partners to ensure areas that are important for these wild residents are safeguarded and encourage landowners and managers to make changes to less favourable areas, even perhaps ensuring that the needs of wildlife as well as people are taken into account in future developments in the town.
What you can do - Bat, Otter and Water Vole Surveys
The aim of the surveys is to build up a map of bat, otter and water vole activity across the town. Small teams of two to four people will walk a section of the town’s waterways recording the bats and water voles they see and hear. The Trust will provide full training and any equipment needed to carry out the surveys.
Taking place over the summer each year these surveys will be great fun; meeting new people and making a significant contribution to the conservation of these amazing creatures in your home town. Next training will be the 19th of March and 2nd of April 2016. Please let us know if you would like to be included.
