We have loads of great wildlife events for adults, kids and families in Somerset. Hopefully the list below will give you lots of ideas for things to do, and give you more information about the interesting and fun activities you can take part in. Take a look at what's on below.

Because some of our events and things to do are held in the wilds of Somerset they include a grid reference as a meeting point - post codes are too imprecise. To see the location for the activity on a map go to Street Map and type in the grid reference (e.g. ST456437 no spaces.) Tuesday 4 October

Simon Clarke, Senior Reserves Manager for Natural England will be giving a broad talk about the beautiful landscape and wonderful wildlife of Avalon Marshes and Shapwick Heath.

Join artist Tanya Josham in the beautiful surroundings of the Earth Science Centre, carving Bath Stone, using traditional hand tools,
drawing inspiration from the centres geological collection of rocks and fossils.

Over the last ten years the Somerset Levels have successfully attracted a variety of new birds some of which have bred here
for the first time. Roger Lucken’s talk will focus on some of these species, discuss the potential for further expansion and look at
the role of the Levels in providing a platform for colonisation of other parts of the UK..
