Annual General Meeting - 21st October 2017

We would like to thank you our members for your continued support of the Trust and invite you to the 53rd Annual General Meeting and Members’ Day on Saturday 21st October in Wells. During the morning’s free AGM, you will be able to learn about what the Trust has achieved over the past year thanks to your support, and have an opportunity to meet the Trustees and staff, and put your questions to them.

TownHall Day (002)

We have six nominations for new members of the Trust’s Council, and you can find more information about each of them, together with the minutes of the 2016 meeting, the agenda for the 2017 AGM and the 2016/17 Report and Accounts can be found below.

Stay for the whole day and, following a delicious buffet lunch, we will have an afternoon of talks and discussion chaired by the Trust’s Director of Conservation Policy and Strategy, Michele Bowe, on the theme of Conservation in the 21st Century. Our speakers are Charlie Burrell, Chair of Re-wilding Britain, Graham Harvey, Agricultural Editor for Radio 4’s The Archers, and Simon Brenman, Director of Regional Programmes, South West Wildlife Trusts.

We will reflect on how conservation strategy has changed and adapted over 50 years.  Our speakers will discuss approaches to conservation on a landscape-scale in our county, identify how the rewilding concept might fit within our own county’s landscapes, and look at how producing great food can be delivered alongside increasing biodiversity.
